Featuring A-list Kpop stars such as Ailee, MBLAQ, Wheesung and Alexander, along with comedy music group Ongals, the ‘2K13 Feel Korea’ concert is set to take place on November 30 at Challenge Stadium, Mount Claremont, in Perth WA.
Although this marks MBLAQ’s second visit Down Under – they came in November 2011 for the Kpop Festival in Sydney – it will be the first time for the other performers. Ailee and Alexander can speak English fluently, which is a nice bonus for non-Korean speaking fans. I wonder if they’ll even pick up some Aussie slang while they’re here?
The tickets are surprisingly cheap considering the artists are quite well known. They’re only $10 each so the Kpop fan community in Perth are extremely happy and excited about it. They’ll no longer need to complain that it’s only the east coast that gets Kpop concerts! I guess it’s about time the other states got some Kpop loving.
Being a cultural exchange event run by KOFICE and funded by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Korea might help explain the low price.
I’d love to see Ailee belting out her hit songs such as ‘Heaven’ and ‘I Will Show You’ but as cheap as the tickets are, flights are not…
Regardless, I’m glad more Kpop artists are coming to Australia, especially with the recent flood of Kpop action seeing CNBLUE, 4Minute, XIA, Brown Eyed Girls’ Miryo, Dok2 etc. grace our shores in just the latter half of this year. I say keep the Hallyu Wave coming!
Tickets go on sale at Ticketmaster on Wednesday, 6 Nov, at 9AM Western Standard Time-Perth Time (12PM for East Coasters living in Sydney and Melbourne).
Update: There will also be culture classes the day before the concert (Fri, Nov 29) to learn Kpop dances and Korean writing. See updated poster below.
