The ‘Korean Film Festival in Australia’ (KOFFIA) is returning again for another slice of Korean cinematic goodness! The Sydney round starts off tomorrow with a screening of ‘A Werewolf Boy,’ starring the handsome Onew look-a-like, actor Song Joong-ki.
However, there’s even a little something for Kpop fans, with a scheduled screening of ‘9 Muses of Star Empire’ this Sunday (25th Aug). It’s a behind the scenes doco-film that delves into the Kpop group’s journey to stardom.
Even though I don’t follow 9 Muses, I might check it out. It seems quite interesting and I remember seeing the group perform at the ‘Walk with the Stars’ free concert that I went to in Korea. Plus, there’s apparently a Kpop dance showcase happening with it, which should be fun to watch.
KOFFIA runs for about a week and will wrap up next Thursday with ‘The Thieves,’ an action film starring ‘Dream High’ breakout star Kim Soo-hyun and ‘My Sassy Girl’s Jeon Ji-hyun. Seems a bit like Oceans 11, so I might check that one out too.
Miss A’s Suzy fans might also be interested in ‘Architecture 101’, where she stars as the female lead. Or they could just be interested in the free Noggi, which comes with the screening.
All films are English subtitled and will be screened at the George Street Event Cinemas. For further information on the screening schedule and how to book tickets, please visit http://koffia.com.au/
